The architectural rendering of the “Xenia” hotel complex in Paliouri, Halkidiki, is part of a project concerning the reuse of existing facilities and the development of hotel units within an area of ​​approximately 322 acres.

Approach 

The "Xenia" hotel complex in Paliouri, constructed in 1962, is an important representative example of Aris Konstantinidis' modernist architecture. It operated until 1997. Since then, its abandonment has led to significant deterioration, damage caused by time, and vandalism, making a comprehensive technical survey essential prior to any reuse intervention.

The precise mapping and documentation of the existing situation, which is based on modern technological solutions and documented scientific expertise, was essential for the design and implementation of new uses, the preservation of the architectural identity and the protection of the cultural heritage of the complex.
